 Goals and Objectives:

​Goal:
Students will create a weaving loom and their own weaving
Language Objectives:
1. Students will learn about warp, weft, shuttle, shed, and shed stick.

Content Objectives:
Students will understand and appreciate weaving as an art form.

Materials:

1. Rigid cardboard ( about 8" x 14")
2. Scissors
3. cardboard strip (1"x8")
4. variety of yarns and string
5. masking tape
6. Large-eyed needle
7. fork or comb or ruler

Vocabulary:

1. Warp: yarn arranged lengthwise on a loom
2. Weft: the yarn woven across the warp yarn in weaving
3. Shuttle: Bobbin that passes the weft thread between the warp threads
4. Shed:  the shed is the temporary separation between upper and lower warp yarns through which the weft is woven
5. Shed Stick:  The shed Stick is the tool that separates  upper and lower warp yarns through which the weft is woven
