Activity:
Teacher will demonstrate and discuss color theory with students through a question and answer format. Teacher will then use examples to show what will be expected in the lesson. Discussion will occur again about the examples. Students will be looking at handout while teacher demonstrates the proper use of the tools and will show them how to make tints and shades.

Students will be given a radial worksheet and teacher will discuss the use of the worksheet. Students will take the worksheet and paint according to the handout. Students will continue painting using the original color, a tint of that color and a shade of the color until all twelve sections are complete.

Wrap-up Activity or Assessment:
Did students paint using their best painting skills?
Did students create the tints and shades correctly?
Did students use the tools properly?
Did students clean the tools properly?
Did students complete project in a timely manner?

Daily Assignment: Upon entering room, students will be given their journals. All students will write the vocabulary words and the definitions in their journals. Once they are done, they will get their artwork and supplies and return to their assigned seat to begin working. At dismissal time, all projects will be placed on the dry rack, tools will be cleaned and returned to their proper place.  Students will reflect in their journals about what they learned today and will give journals to the teacher..  Return to seat to be dismissed.
