Chalk Pastels Colored Construction paper White and Black Charcoal pencils for sketching Eraser Manilla paper to cover the drawings |
Activity:
1. Students will be introduced to the the technique of pastel drawing. They will be shown how to mix and blend the pastel colors. They will look at examples and will choose an exemplary piece of art to reproduce.
2. Students will sketch their composition on colored construction paper (9x12) using the white or black charcoal pencil.
3. Using this technique, students will create their pastel drawings in their own style. The actual pastel painting may take several class periods to complete.
